Are you looking for a new challenge in 2025? We are looking to speak with experienced Senior Sous Chefs regarding an exciting opportunity with an esteemed Wedding and Events based client in Northumberland. 

As a Senior Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to oversee and elevate the culinary operations of our client’s venue.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in menu planning, development, and execution with a focus on seasonal, locally-sourced ingredients.
  • Supervising and mentoring the kitchen team to maintain high culinary standards.
  • Leading the preparation and service for large-scale weddings and events, ensuring seamless execution.
  • Overseeing food safety, hygiene, and compliance with all health regulations.
  • Managing inventory, cost control, and supplier relationships to ensure efficiency and quality.
  • Developing innovative dishes and catering options that align with client preferences and event themes.
  • Training and supporting junior chefs to foster growth and maintain a cohesive team dynamic.
  • Acting as a leader in the absence of the Head Chef, ensuring continuity in operations.

We are looking for a Senior Sous Chef who is passionate about the culinary arts and thrives in a fast-paced, event-driven environment.

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef, preferably in a wedding, events, or fine-dining setting.
  • Exceptional culinary skills and a strong understanding of diverse cooking techniques.
  • Leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to manage and inspire a team.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Familiarity with food cost management and inventory control.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of food safety regulations and certifications (e.g., Food Safety Level 3 or equivalent).
  • Creative flair and a passion for delivering outstanding dining experiences.
