Event Chef – Flexible Opportunities | Sunderland

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a number of clients in Sunderland for skilled Event Chefs to support a variety of weddings, functions, and large-scale events. This is an excellent opportunity for chefs who enjoy working in fast-paced environments and delivering high-quality food for large numbers.

Our clients host events year-round, catering for everything from intimate gatherings to large functions of up to several hundred guests, offering varied and rewarding work.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver high-quality food for events, including weddings and functions
• Work efficiently as part of a team during busy service periods
• Assist with set-up, service, and breakdown of event catering operations
• Ensure consistency in food quality and presentation across large volumes
• Maintain strict food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards
• Adapt to different venues, menus, and kitchen setups
• Support senior chefs and work across different sections as required

About You

• Proven experience working in events, banqueting, or high-volume kitchens
• Ability to perform well under pressure in fast-paced environments
• Flexible and reliable with a strong work ethic
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Passionate about delivering high-quality food
• A team player with good communication skills
• Relevant food hygiene certification preferred
