Alnwick Head Chef
Adkins & Cheurfi are recruiting for a beautiful Restaurant situated within the largest woodland house in the world. The venue is part of an award-winning visitor attraction within Alnwick in Northumberland. The Restaurant offers both a lunch and evening service as well as hosts a number of private weddings and events.
The Food and Beverage department is looking for an experienced and passionate Alnwick Head Chef to lead the kitchen team at this unique venue. We are looking for a talented, committed, and ambitious individual with a passion for food to lead from the front and help us take the restaurant to the next level.
The successful candidate will also have the autonomy to develop and create their own menus, using local suppliers and produce.
The summary of role details is as follows:

- Tips
- Salary from £35K – negotiable
- 45 hours per week (4/5 days out of 7)
- Evening services only 3 out of 7
- 33 days of holiday a year (including Bank Holidays and Christmas Day)
Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Essential):
- Formal Culinary Training – minimum level 3 NVQ or equivalent
- At least 2 years’ kitchen experience as Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef
- Strong organisational skills
- A good foundation of Health and Safety
- Training to Level 3 Food Safety Management
- Good management and communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both the front of house team and customers
- Good GP management skills and financial control
- Self-motivated and focused on motivating the team
- Highly developed attention to detail
- Flexible with the ability to work under pressure
Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Desirable):
- Keeps up to date on the latest culinary food trends, local competition, and regional supply opportunities
- Event/weddings production and service experience an advantage
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- IT literate – Microsoft packages
